Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, John Travolta, Elton John, Cher, Truman Capote, Brooke Shields and Calvin Klein were just some of the celebrities to get their rocks off at the legendary Studio 54 nightclub in NYC. Much of the debauchery inside the club has remained secret until now - as a treasure trove of scandalous photos have been unearthed. These Incredible images show hoards of scantily clad A-listers, dancing singing and getting down to naughty business in the Manhattan den of iniquity. The historic shots were all taken between 1977 and 1980 by the late Richard P. Manning, aka "RPM" who was part of the venue's trendy inner circle. "Manning had unique access to what nowadays would be called 'after parties.' He not only photographed celebrities but also the club's other colorful and uninhibited guests. His pictures weren't press photos - they were latter-day versions of what Man Ray or Weegee might have taken in such surroundings,"said Rico Baca, co-owner of the Palm Beach Modern auction house, who are running the sale on Feb. 4-5. Pictured: Cher, smiling with a small dog. The auction marks the 40th Anniversary of Studio 54, plus the release of a film documentary about the club and a new book by Ian Schrager. The 115 lots are from Manning's personal archive, which he bequeathed to lifelong friends. The full archive can be found at: http://bit.ly/2jTNt3t.
