Five royal wedding dresses are being displayed together for the first time at Kensington Palace State Apartments (April 30). The wedding gowns to be shown are those worn by five British royal brides who have all reigned as crowned monarchs: Queen Elizabeth II (married 1947, 380842I, H, F), Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (1923, 380842G, C, D), Queen Mary (1893, 380842E), Queen Alexandra (1863, 380842A) and Queen Victoria (1840, 380842B). The current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II's dress was designed by Norman Hartnell and embroidered with 10,000 seed pearls. It was last on display in 1973.
