It was a kids movie that made Idina Menzel a household name but, she tells Billboard magazine, she's very much a grown up. "I'm a 42-year-old woman who likes to talk about sex and I've got a foul mouth," said the Broadway actress/singer songwriter who had her name catastrophically mispronounced by John Travolta during the 2014 Oscars. Menzel, who is revered for her roles in 'Rent' and 'Wicked' has been trying to make it in pop music for 18-years. The break came with her Oscar-winning track 'Let It Go' from the animated film Frozen (making her the only Tony winner to also have a Billboard chart-topper) "I've been signed and dropped a million times," she said. "People say that Broadway actors can't cross over." But her soundtrack from the Disney flick, on which Menzel sings the part of the ice queen Elsa, was the first album to sell more that 1 million in 2014 and Let It Go rocketed to the top ten. "When you sit back and do the things you love things happen," she said of her long-awaited acclaim. As for Travolta's Oscar night blooper Menzel says she has "only benefited" from the blunder. "He was really gracious and sent me this gorgeous email and we're buddies and it's cool," said the star who also received apologetic flowers from the 60-year-old 'Grease' actor.
