The future of the lucrative TV series Duck Dynasty is in jeopardy after patriarch Phil Robertson, 67, made comments deemed to be homophobic in an interview with GQ USA. But Phil's son Willie Robertson, 41, says his family is just being real. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter (THR) magazine in the USA the reality TV star explained the show's popularity: "It's the combination of the faith, the positive and family aspect, and it's funny," said the religious Louisiana native. His older brother Jase also commented to the entertainment publication: "We're just kind of doing what we do and people identify with that," he said. "If everyone wants to do good, clean television then I think that's what we need." Jep or Jeptha, youngest of the Roberson brothers, said: "And it doesn't hurt that our wives are like super, super pretty." Since the THR photoshoot was conducted Phil Robertson has been "suspended indefinitely" by the TV network A&E for his comments which labeled homosexuality as a "sin" and likened it to bestiality. Previously the Duck Dynasty Christmas special on Dec 11 had drawn a whopping 8.9 million viewers and was rated as cable TV's No. 1 unscripted show.
