Actress and environmental activist Daryl Hannah shows her hand covered with crude oil after putting it into an oil waste pit left by Texaco in the Guanta Oil Fields in the Ecuadorian rainforest during the company's operations from 1964-1992. This unlined waste pit is filled with crude oil left by Texaco when they ended operations here. Toxic waste from this pit and more than 1000 others like it have contaminated the region's water supply.
