The LEGO Group has unveiled its largest-ever building set - a detailed recreation of Barcelona's world-famous Sagrada Família basilica.
The stunning new set marks the centenary of the death of the long unfinished cathedral’s architect, Antoni Gaudí.
The new addition to the LEGO Architecture range recreates one of the world's most recognisable landmarks and aims to reflect both the scale and complexity of Gaudí's masterpiece - which may finally be completed this year.
Comprising 12,060 pieces, the LEGO Architecture Sagrada Família set is the largest building set ever released by the company by piece count.
The model has been designed to mirror the real basilica's construction process, allowing builders to follow the development of the structure in a sequence inspired by its more than 140-year history.
The build begins with the apse and crypt before progressing through the Nativity Façade and Passion Façade. It then moves on to the basilica's naves, Western Sacristy and six of its distinctive towers, before concluding with the Eastern Sacristy and the Glory Façade.
Among the model's features is a stained-glass window effect intended to recreate the way light passes through the coloured glass of the actual church.
The completed model is designed as a display piece and is aimed at adult builders, architecture enthusiasts and travellers interested in some of the world's most celebrated structures.
Rok Žgalin Kobe, LEGO Architecture Designer, said: “We felt an immense responsibility to do justice to the Sagrada Família through this design. Our goal was to honour Gaudí’s vision with the utmost respect, capturing the rhythm of the basilica’s construction, its extraordinary complexity and ambition, and translating that into an immersive building experience.
“This is not only the largest LEGO set ever, but a model of one of the most ambitious architectural works in the world. Balancing scale and precision, while remaining faithful to a living monument that has been evolving for more than a century, was a unique design challenge – and one we’re incredibly proud of.”
The real Sagrada Família, one of Barcelona's most visited attractions, has been under construction since 1882. Gaudí devoted much of his later life to the project before his death in 1926, and work on the basilica continues to this day.
The set joins LEGO's Architecture collection, which features brick-built versions of famous landmarks from around the world. Builders will also be able to use the LEGO Builder app, which provides interactive 3D instructions, progress tracking and digital build-saving features.
The LEGO Architecture Sagrada Família is available for pre-order now and will go on sale worldwide on 1 November 2026.
The set will retail at £649.99 in the UK, €749.99 in Europe and $799.99 in the United States.
