Manatee Lagoon FPL EcoDiscovery Center (Florida Power and Light), in Florida. Manatee Lagoon is where threatened Florida manatees gather in the warmwater outflows of Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center, especially during cold weather. Located on the east coast of the state in Palm Beach County where they built a viewing platform in 2018. Seeing this many manatees gathering together so far south is rare because the ocean temps rarely drop enough to force them towards the plant. However, when they do gather this is an essential viewing station for scientists and FWC to look at the health of our east coast manatees.
