The troubled troubadour performed a set at the Jazz After Dark in Soho and by all accounts the 26-year-old's set went well, but her exit showed a return to her usual bad behaviour of drunkenness, foul language and aggression.
Wearing her usual beehive and satin slippers - and with some suspiciously much plumper lips than normal - Winehouse looked much the worse for wear as she was escorted to her car by security - as much for the safety of the paparazzi as for the star herself.
She and estranged husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, are back together and are planning to renew their wedding vows.
However, it will be the images of her looking tired and emotional, bedraggled and upset, launching into a tirade of cursing and spitting at the snappers once she was in the safety of her car, which will endure - the reasons for her anger are not entirely clear.
Winehouse is in the UK putting finishing touches to her 3rd album, having courted controversy after being cleared of common assault on Sherene Flash in July.
