JAWORZNO, POLAND - MAY 03: An aerial view of people walking on a wood path by the azure water lake of a former dolomite mine in Jaworzno, Poland on May 03, 2024. The site of a former dolomite mine known as the Polish Maldives or Grodek Park is located 30 minutes drive from Katowice, in Southern Poland. In the 19th century, it was an industrial area with a dolomite mine. In 1997, the mine ceased to be exploited and the excavation holes were filled with water. It is a spectacular place with lush greenery and a stunning lake, featuring the azure water, steep cliffs, and tiny islands, which make visitors feel almost as if they are going on an exotic holiday.
