Sunbathing seal spotted by dog walker on beach
A sunbathing seal was spotted by a dog walker on the seafront.
The lazy sea mammal could be seen lounging on the pebbles by the water.
It looked like it was sleeping as it lay on its side on the shoreline.
The grey seal was spotted by dog walker, Haley Magee on Brighton beach.
She made the rare discovery on Saturday (16 Mar)
The animal hasn’t moved from its sunbathing spot and it has been guarded by a tapeline.
A Marine rescue team urged locals to not interact with seals.
They typically spend the months between December and April moulting to remove and replace their layers of fur.
As this takes a lot of energy, they travel to land to do this.
