Excited red deer LONDON ADORABLE IMAGES of two one-year-old fallow deers hugging each other were captured in London’s Bushy Park on February 10. Although introduced for hunting by Normans about 1000 years ago, fallow deers are now widespread across England, Wales, southern Scotland and Ireland. In other images, you can also see a group of more than 50 female red deer running across the water, heading towards the feeding station in Bushy Park. Bushy Park is home to over 320 red and fallow deer. Their herds have played a major role in the park’s history and shaping its landscape. These amazing pictures were snapped by a British wildlife photographer, Sue Pooley (50), from 50 feet away, keeping her distance so as not to disturb the animals. “The deer in Bushy Park, fallow and red, they all know what time the ranger arrives to feed them, and they head across the bridge or water to get there as quickly as they can,” she said. “I always consider the deer’s welfare when photographing them, so I never get too close and always do my best to be quiet and as inconspicuous as possible. “Despite the fact they live in a Park and are used to people, they are still wild animals and deserve to be given space and not harassed.” ENDs
