A crew abandons a well in Alliance, Alberta. Abandoning a well is the technical term for permanently closing it with a bridge plug and cement, and then cutting off the well head below ground. Then a site is supposed to be remediated and reclaimed, cleaning all waste and contamination, and returning the site to its original state as a farm field, forest or fallow ground.
