??sI prefer soft centres...??? This young lioness was hoping her potential snack had a soft centre inside its hard shell. But, thankfully, for this hapless tortoise in Kenya???s Masai Mara, the playful predator was just happy to use it as a cat toy. British wildlife photographer Paul Goldstein captured the scene. The Exodus Travels guide, from Wimbledon, says: ??sThis adolescent lioness seemed happy to use the tortoise as a cat toy. It carried it around in its powerful jaws but didn???t seem to want to crack its prize open.??? Paul says the big cat eventually left the tortoise alone. ??sIts chassis was fine, but it did have a few scratches on its paintwork,??? laughs Paul. The lioness was a part of the pride in the Olare Conservancy in Masai Mara. Paul guides photo safaris all over the world for Exodus travels (www.exodus.co.uk) and co-owns Kicheche Camps (www.kicheche.com) in Kenya.
