Nyin Nyin Kyi,, 31, a Mon Burmese migrant worker recently contracted the mosquito borne disease Chikunguniya which she is still recovering from. Already earning only a few hundred Thai Baht per day (approximately US$7) the treatment and medicine she was forced to get meant she was forced to borrow money from a money lender. The lender charges interest every month and it has put her in to cycle of debt that she has no idea how she will get out of.
