Veteran French actress Catherine Deneuve launched a strong defence of Gerard Depardieu on Decembre 21, 2012, calling a virulent critic of her fellow thespian's bid for tax exile a petty-minded pygmy. Deneuve's defence came after the reclusive French film legend Brigitte Bardot castigated attacks on a man who is arguably France's leading actor with roles in nearly 170 films. 66303, FRANCE - Tuesday September 6, 2011. TAKING THE P*SS! Actor Gerard Depardieu has made fun of his recent inflight incident - in a new YouTube spoof. The French actor, 62, made a video, called 'Les Gaulois Dans L'Espace' (Gauls In Space) just weeks after he was kicked off an Air France flight from Paris to Dublin for relieving himself in full view of passengers and crew. In the parody, which is entirely in French, Depardieu is seen sitting on an aircraft, alongside his Asterix and Obelix co-star Edouard Baer, who accompanied Depardieu when the real-life accident occurred. The pair, dressed as their characters in the famous French series, are settled into their seats and both reading papers. As the flight attendant announces that passengers will not be served wild boar until they are at a safe distance in air, Depardieu goes into a rage. Getting up from his seat he demands that he is hungry, and needs to eat immediately. A flight attendant rushes over to calm him down and tries to get him seated, but to no avail. She is then heard over the loud speaker telling fellow passengers that a man has made a 'mess' and that they will have to make an emergency landing. According to fellow passengers on the flight, Depardieu was heard telling flight attendants: 'I need to p***, I need to p***.' But instead he was told to be seated. The attendant said "I'm sorry, you'll have to wait fifteen minutes, when we'll be in flight. The toilets are locked.'' Depardieu, who claims to drink up to five bottles of wine a day, has denied he was drunk during the incident insisting he was simply desperate to pass water because he has "prostate problems". A statement released by his companion on the flight, actor Baer said the actor 'offered to clean up the mess'. He also claimed: 'Gerard is very sorry for what happened. He wanted to go to the toilet but he was forbidden because we were about to take off, so he was forced to do it on the plane in front of everybody.''
