Wood III from the series ?This is the Place? by Wendel Wirth from the USA. In the winter months, the muted horizon parades elemental forms; barns and grain elevators, cow houses, cowsheds, granges as they have been called. THE WINNERS of the AAP Magazine #13: Shapes competition have been announced. The first-place winning entry by JP Terlizzi from the USA showed two china cups of rhubarb spilt out onto a plate that seemingly blurred into the background tablecloth. Second place winner, Wendel Wirth?s, also from the USA, image showed a farm outbuilding blended into the cold wintry horizon. The angular contours of an industrial cooking plant won Klaus Lenzen of Germany third place. Images that earnt merits in the competition included one titled ?City Waves? by Hans Wichmann of Germany who captured a skyscraper in Vienna, Austria, at an angle which gave the illusion of waves. Fabrizio Spucches from Italy shot an image showing a sunburnt man?s face with a bright white outline where his coronavirus face mask once was. For the 13th edition of the AAP Magazine, photographers submitted works of art that explored the concept of shapes and were inundated with entries that explored the theme through documentary, architecture, nudes, still life and abstractions.
