Tigress subdues the boar INDIA ACTiON-PACKED images show a tigress attacking a wild boar on January 7 in Maharashtra, India. The tigress had hidden herself so well within the fauna that the wild boar did not even sense her presence and wandered close. Lighting fast reflexes and relentless blows rendered the boar immobile and eventually the predator's meal. These thrilling images were taken by Indian wildlife photographer Anirudh Laxmipathy (38) near Kolasa village in Maharashtra. “We followed the tigress for at least half an hour while she was looking for a hunt,” he said. “Suddenly, she changed her direction and started stalking something that we later saw was the wild boar. “Capturing these raw and rare moments is the ultimate dream of a wildlife photographer. “I had presumed the fight to be an easy ride for the tigress but I was gravely mistaken. It's not the way it works out in the wild. “The predator’s relentless nature was at its rawest as the fight for survival reached a fearsome crescendo as the boar held on and fought till its final breadth. “This fight reminded me of the quote ‘Either you die trying or live to fight another day’ and this was a stark reminder of that fact.” ENDs
