(NYT9) BAGHDAD -- October 31, 2003 -- IRAQ-3 -- A U.S. military dog handler in Baghdad checks a vehicle parked in the access road to the New York Times and Reuters bureaus after two trained dogs alerted handlers of explosives on Friday, Oct. 31, 2003. Explosives were not found in the car and munitions experts said that the car might have been used to carry explosives in the recent past, and the residue left by some explosives is what could have alerted the dogs.
