Nawal Shahoud makes coffee in her family's tent, in a camp for internally displaced persons near the Turkish border, Bab al-Hawa, Syria, March 18, 2013. Her family's home in Al-Ghab district, Hama province, was destroyed in an airstrike and 50 family members fled to this camp two months ago. The 6,000 people who call this camp home each receive just one piece of bread and a tub of chocolate spread each day. Some people sleep in the open, or in their cars, as there aren't enough shelters for the increasing number of refugees. According to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, at least 2.5 million Syrians have displaced from their homes and are finding shelter within the country. One million more have fled to a neighboring country. The humanitarian needs of Syrians impacted by the conflict have far outpaced donations from the international community to ease the crisis.
