Kodiak bear cubs stroll through the forest ALASKA EXCITING images of a mother Kodiak bear with her two cubs show the ‘grizzly’ family enjoying cute family time. Images show how the three bears finishing for Salmon in the waters of Katmai and Kodiak Island, Alaska, playing together as a family and even fighting and clambering about.  Kodiak bears are sometimes called grizzlies due to superficial physical similarities with grizzly bears. However, Kodiak bears are larger than grizzly bears, and the ranges of these two subspecies do not overlap. The female Koidak bear or a sow can weigh from 399 to 701 lb, whereas a male bear or a boar can reach 600 to 1,400 lb of weight.  These incredible images were snapped by a wildlife photographer from Belgium, Edgard Berben.  Berben took these pictures from a distance of a mere 50 feet using a Nikon Z9 camera with a 400mm TC 1.4 VRS lens.  At the time of the shoot, he was surrounded by around 25 bears playing about and hunting for food. “The best thing about these photos is that you are in a completely natural environment. It all feels so peaceful and quiet,” he said.  “The bears are very active and peaceful at the same time. Seeing them running through the river, chasing salmon, cubs playing. it's all fantastic to experience this in their natural habitat. “It is the largest bear species in the world. “Wildlife in general is very fascinating to me. Observing and photographing the bears was a fantastic experience that taught me that all the answers can be found in nature.” ENDS
