Chartar, Nagorno Karabakh, Azerbaijan, 07-06-2006 Deminers of the ngo Halo Trust are clearing anti-tank mines with a big loop detector on minefield Chartar 5 near the villager of Chartar. During the war both Armenia and Azerbaijan put mines in the ground. Most mines are Russian. Halo Trust employs 210 local deminers. In the last 5 years, Halo Trust found 40.000 mines and unexploded ordnance. In 2004 there were 43 mine victims in Karabakh. Nagorno-Karabach is an unofficial republic.
