The plot of land where the first plants of cannabis were sown, experts agronomists and the council of the Municipality of Saracinesco are visible in the background. This small lot belongs to a extensive area located next to the Aniene River, making the site for the first Italian project for the cultivation of cannabis for therapeutic purposes. Saracinesco is a small central Italian village of 182 inhabitants. It's 'the site of a pilot project for the cultivation of hemp both for industrial and therapeutic purposes. The project includes the creation of a phyto-therapeutic bio-park and a health resort to treat patients following a medically assisted cannabinoid-based therapy. The project is supported by the city council and by institutions such as the Roma Tre University and the University of Tuscia.
