Jie (shadow), who's 6-month-pregnant, looks at her wedding photo at home in Tangzibian village, Mengla county, Yunnan province, China. 13-year-old Jie and 18-year-old Wen got married 3 days after they met each other during the Spring Festival of 2014. Jie was visiting Wen's family at that time, and Wen's family insisted her to stay and be Wen's wife. After they got married, Jie quit school from 5th Grade. They live in Wen's home, on the top of a mountain, a village called Tangzibian. Wen's parents are working as migrant workers in Anhui province, leaving the couple alone at home. The money they send back every month is the only income for the young couple. When they just got married, Jie didn't expect a baby that soon, but they didn't know about taking birth control. Before getting pregnant, she had pain every time when she had her period. She was told that it was a sign of being unable to pregnant, so she started to take "medicine" to treat. Not long after that, she got pregnant. Jie feels bored about marriage life, because she can only stay at home and do farming, cooking and embroidery in case her husband gets jealous of her hanging out with other friends. Jie doesn't think too much about future, she's too young for even going out to work in bigger cities.
