The sea lion in mid air BLACKPOOL ZOO, UK INCREDIBLE IMAGES of sea lions performing aerial acrobatics have been captured. The images show the sea lions jumping, splashing and contorting themselves into almost unimaginable shapes. These images were captured by photographer Gary Cox (52) from from Manchester UK in zoos across the UK including Flamingo Land and Blackpool Zoo. Gary captured the images on his Canon 80D and one of the pictures was so popular Flamingo Land even used it as the advert for the sea lion show. “I loved the photos but was distracted by the background,” said Gary. “Therefore, I set myself a challenge of not only removing the background but keeping every single water droplet in order to make the image more dynamic, and complete. “This turned out to be quite an undertaking and extremely time consuming. “However, the result is some of my best work and completely worth it. “Actually, one of these photos was being sold as a poster after the Sea Lion show at Flamingo Land last season.” ENDS
