This combimation of picture shows an original photograph from June 1944 showing the landing of allied forces in Normandy, France(top), and the 1/72 scale models reconstitution made on January 16, 2019 by Nicolas Bloudanis on the island of Leros. - Modelling is a hobby that still has a strong presence in Greece: the International Plastic Modellers Society- Hellas (IMPS) as well as several models shops contribute to expand modellism in the country. Those shops attract enthusiasts who can even exhibit their scale models on any kind. Nicolas Bloudanis, an historian living on the greek island of Leros, and whose passion is modelling, travels regularly to find scale models of planes, ships and figurines, which he will exhibit in his house, or to reconstitute famous World War II historical scenes.
