FILE -- Elie Wiesel, the Holocaust survivor and author, at a conference of Nobel laureates in Petra, Jordan, June 21, 2006. Wiesel, the survivor whose writings including "Night" did as much as anyone to sear the memory of the Holocaust on the world's conscience, died at home in Manhattan on July 2, 2016. He was 87.
