Libby Holman Reynolds, Broadway singer, is pictured in the Little Wentworth, North Carolina courtroom, Aug. 8, 1932, where she surrendered and was admitted to $25,000 bail to face a charge of killing her husband, Smith Reynolds, 20-year-old heir to tobacco millions. Young Reynolds was slain in his mansion in Winston Salem, N.C., July 6 and his widow and his chum, Al Walker, were indicted for his murder. Beside the young widow, heavily veiled and clad in black, is her father, Alfred Holman, Cincinnati lawyer, who is holding her hand. Standing beyond Holman is Libby???s lawyer, Benet Polikoff, making his plea for her admission to bail. (AP Photo)
