The large scoreboard to be used in the Olympic stadium in Los Angeles during the international games, flashed its first message when it sent out a welcome to the world to attend the games on June 22, 1932. Ten men will be required to operate the board which is 43 feet across and 22 feet deep. The center flag pole above will carry the flag of the nation winning the event recorded on the board with the flag to the left that of the country placing second and the flag to the right representing the country placing third.
