The star was accused of assaulting dancer Sherene Flash at the End of Summer Berkeley Ball last year. She had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges at a court hearing in March. Yesterday (23 July) the City of Westminster Magistrates Court was told that the singer reacted with "deliberate and unjustifiable violence" after Flash asked her for a photograph. The court heard that Flash encouraged her friend Kieran Connelly to be the picture with Winehouse, who at first seemed reluctant but then agreed. Winehouse, described as being under the influence of alcohol or possibly some other substance at the time, then lashed out without warning, striking Ms Flash in the face. In her defence Winehouse claimed that she only pushed Ms Flash away after feeling intimidated by her behaviour. She was cleared of the charges against her after the judge said, after hearing all of the evidence, he could not be sure the blow had been deliberate.
