On the Streets of Catania Fod? is a Gambian boy (17) from the capital Serekunda. When he was in Gambia he didn't go to school because after the death of his father he was forced to help financially his mother and his brothers. So, for four years he started a shop that sold ice cream and sweets. Since his mother became sick, together they moved to Senegal for medical treatments. For this reason he lost his job. After being some months in Senegal without working, at the end he decided to try to reach Europe. The journey through the Sarah desert, towards Libya, was very hard. During the trip the Jeep where he was travelling with other people, had an accident and it was accidentally overturned. In this accident he lost one of his friends, and many people, including himself, were injured. Also the journey through the Mediterraneum see was difficult. Once reached the international sea, their boat began to sink. Unfotunayely, 18 persons died. Today his dream is to stay in Italy and, due to the fact that he is passionate of cars, study mechanical engineering.
