On the Streets of Catania Lamin (21) from Gambia, left his country looking for a better life. The journey in the Sahara lasted 10 days. He traveled with other 31 people inside a Jeep. Unfortunately the car had an accident, it overturned and one person died. After be hiding for some months in Tripoli, fearful of the stay in Libya, he decided to cross the sea towards Sicily. So, after paying a sum, he started the trip by boat. After some hours the boat started to sink. Everybody inside the boat tried to throw out the water with any tool, even with the hands. Fortunately the italian navy helped them soon. Contrariwise, the second boat who was traveling together with them, had a big problem and sinked. At least 45 people died in that shipwreck. In this tragedy he lost his uncle and his cousin. Now that he is in Italy he wants to stay and learn italian very soon in order to increase the opportunity to find a good job and try to restart his life again.
