The meadow park located near the center of Medell??n is part of the plan of the city of Medell??n to become one of the first eco-cities in Latin America. To build the park, it was necessary to demolish some old properties that occupied part of the space. Bricks, tiles, rubble and other elements that resulted from this process were reused during the construction phase under the concept of urban recycling. For the execution of the work, 67% of the extracted material was reused. The runoff water management model was also changed for the irrigation of green areas, taking advantage of the growth and permanence of vegetation over time.
