Police officers in the Pechersk Police Department in Kyiv, Ukraine have named a new canine recruit after the Bayraktar drones the country???s military are using against Russian troops. Zlata, the daughter of deputy police manager Roman Perekosa owned the puppy but had to flee her home due to the Russian invasion. Before leaving she gave little Bayraktar to her father and his colleagues, saying: "Let him be your mascot." Although he won???t be much of a menace to invading troops, he is already pulling his weight as part of the police team, by warning them when he hears sirens by barking. The hound is already a favourite among Pechersk Police Department employees and a loyal security guard. The police pooch takes his name from the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones that have been used by Ukrainian forces to attack Russian columns and convoy. The unmanned aircraft have become something of a national icon in the country - with a popular song even written praising them.
