Located in the heart of the South Downs National Park, the working museum at Amberley stretches across 36-acres in what used to be a thriving chalk pits and lime works and usually welcomes 50,000 visitors each year to its attractions. The museum is home to a narrow gauge railway, an array of vintage vehicles and traditional craftspeople including a functioning print shop, one of the last of its kind in a former chalk quarry which is dedicated to preserving the industrial heritage of the South East. After suffering great financial hardship during the Coronavirus pandemic, Amberley Museum received ?L50,000 in National Lottery funding and ?L80,000 in the Culture Recovery Fund last year to cover the costs of maintaining the museum. Amberley Museum reopens to members of the public Wednesday 19th May 2021. ?? Jordan Pettitt/Solent News & Photo Agency UK +44 (0) 2380 458800
