The lions bit away at the buffalo without really tucking in. KRUGER NATIONAL PARK, SOUTH AFRICA: WITNESS the moment two greedy lions clung onto a poor buffalo for an agonising THIRTY minutes after they were too FULL to tuck in. In the shocking footage, two 570-pound male lions pursued a nearby thirsty buffalo ? sinking their claws into the unfortunate prey?s hide. The lions proceeded to hang off the 1900-pound buffalo and eventually pulled it to the ground. Here, they intermittently bit into their prey ? too full from an earlier meal to put the buffalo out of its misery. Trail ranger Jan Kriel (50) from Mpumalanga, South Africa, captured the intense footage in the country?s Kruger National Park on his mobile phone. Jan stood a mere 16 feet away as the lions clung on to the buffalo for an agonising 30 minutes. Lions are known for being greedy and can eat up to a quarter of their body weight in a single meal.
