A giraffe plods along as the sun sits in the sky behind it. KENYA: STUNNING silhouettes that look like scenes straight out of THE LION KING have been captured at the burst of sunrise in Africa?s savannahs. In one image, a 1,500-pound rhino was dramatically silhouetted against the rising sun ? almost perfectly echoing the iconic opening scene from Disney?s The Lion King. In another, two 100-pound springbok antelopes stood with their antlers interlocked as the sun continued to rise higher in the sky, casting a red haze across the savannah. Photographer Priyanshi Bachhawat Nahata (33) from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, captured the stunning images in the Amboseli National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve, both located in Kenya. Priyanshi would start her day at four-in-the-morning to catch the stunning hour proceeding sunrise. Priyanshi captured the images using Nikon D5, Nikon D850 and Nikon Z6 cameras. Researchers for The Lion King visited Kenya in November 1991. The team captured photographs and footage which they then passed over to the film?s animators who based The Lion King?s landscapes on the country?s stunning savannahs. When the sun is low in the sky, it encounters more air molecules, forcing blue light away. Only the warmer tones are left, giving African sunrises and sunsets their signature red hue. mediadrumworld.com / @priyanshi.wildographs
