Heating engineer with no photography experience captures STUNNING wildlife photos of animals in their natural habitat An amateur photographer with no professional training has captured breathtaking scenes of rarely seen wildlife ??"??including rabbits, kingfishers, stags, foxes, owls and many more species. Dave Newman, 41, from Sleaford, Lincolnshire, got his first camera at the tender age of 35 to capture photos of the night sky, but only really started using it regularly two years ago. An avid angler, it was during one of his trips that Dave spotted a majestic kingfisher and decided to return with his camera the next day. Fast-forward two years and his images, taken around Lincolnshire, have gained a huge following. As a building, heating and electrical engineer by day, Dave uses his passion to tap into his creative side and show off all the beauty the UK's countryside has to offer. He is willing to go to great lengths to get the perfect shot, having once ended up falling in the river while trying to capture a kingfisher. ??sI was at the bottom of a river bank and I slipped in, shins first, the only dry bit of me was my camera that I was waving in the air,??? he told Jam Press. On another occasion, Dave says he fell ??sarse over tit??? into a puddle of mud, while trying to get a snap of a barn owl. His subjects aren't limited to birds; he has also captured foxes, roe deers and bumble bees. The amateur photographer is keen to spread his wings and get up to Scotland to capture elusive ospreys and spot wild stags in the highlands. He adds that the ultimate wildlife snaps would come from a safari visit or deep in the ocean with great white sharks ??" but until then, he???s very happy snapping kingfishers in his native Lincolnshire. Dave now also sells prints of his work and has even created a calendar, which has since sold out.
