The cargo is the first container shipment in the history of Poland using inland waterways. The barge carrying 6 containers, with supplies for sanitary articles factory, will sail approximately 150 kilometres via Wisla river from Gdansk to Chelmno. Organizers of the shipment want to promote using rivers as a less expensive and more environmentally friendly alternative for road and railway transport of cargo.
