EXCLUSIVE PHOTO FEATURE: In March of 2014, Photographer, Tihomir Trichkov travelled to Mombasa in Kenya for a month to volunteer his time at a local orphanage and school; Disadvantaged, Abandoned, Orphaned, Smart (DAOS). Trichkov stayed with the director of the orphanage, Jonathan Munyany and his family of 10 in their home in Likoni - the poorest neighbourhood of Mombasa. A ferry was needed to get to Likoni and the school was just across the road from Munyany's house. "At first I was worried, since I didn't know anyone there, but all the clouds and question marks disappeared when I saw the family waiting for me at the airport. Felix, one of the boys was holding a sign with my name," says Trichkov. The adventurous photographer observed that there were few white people in Likoni, having people stare at him blankly and calling him 'Mzungu' which means 'The White Guy'. Trichkov enjoyed his time at the school, playing games with the children. "We would play ball games and the 'Tree game' where I was the tree and they were the fruit, so I had to carry two to three little nuggets". During his time there, Trichkov took a series of shots of the beautiful children.
