English-born 'Sherlock' star Benedict Cumberbatch appears on the cover of US magazine, Entertainment Weekly. The actor, 37, said he had doubts about taking on the role of the famous detective for the TV adaptation. "My reservation was 'Well, this is a very iconic character, there will be a lot of attention on it,'" he said.. "This was before I had had any significant success [but] I knew there would still be a lot of focus on it. And while I had done work, it wasn't stepping into the populist limelight like playing a character like Holmes. So I did have a pause for thought." It comes as the third series of the hit show premiered this week in the States. The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly is out now.
