The Battle of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Novemeber 24 - 25, 1863 between the Union forces under General Grant and the Confederate Army under General Bragg. The battle field extended six miles along Missionary Ridge and several miles on Lookout Mountain, but the battle was so well ordered by General Grant and fought by his soldiers that the Confederates retreated in confusion, throwing away their guns and leaving artillery and ammunition behind.
