India, one of the world's largest importers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), is witnessing supply disruptions and rising concerns over cooking gas availability, alongside recent increases in LPG prices. Domestic cylinder rates have been revised upward amid volatility in global oil and gas markets, as escalating tensions and conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran in the Middle East continue to disrupt key energy supply routes. The situation has been further compounded by delays in shipments passing through critical transit corridors such as the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant share of global LPG supplies flows.
