DOWNWARD DOG! This prairie dog practices its yoga poses as it gets its morning stretches in. The rodent, native to grasslands in North America, was spotted at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge near Denver, Colorado, USA. Software executive Peter Batty, 59, said, ÒI have seen thousands of prairie dogs on my photography outings over the years. They live in burrows and are very common in Colorado.Ó ÒBut this is the only time I have seen one posing like this. It seemed as though it was doing yoga poses, stretching out like this for several seconds. A few friends have suggested this may be the downward prairie dog pose!Ó Please byline: Peter Batty/Solent News © Peter Batty/Solent News & Photo Agency UK +44 (0) 2380 458800 *** Local Caption *** Here's a bit of information, let me know if you have any additional questions. Title: Prairie Dog Yoga! This photo was taken at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, just outside Denver, Colorado, USA, on April 26, 2024. Prairie dogs are very common on the plains of Colorado, living in burrows, and I have seen thousands in my photo outings over the years. This is the only time that I have seen one do a pose like this though! It seemed as though it was doing yoga exercises - it stretched out like this for several seconds. Several people have suggested this might be the downward (prairie) dog pose! Photographer is Peter Batty, 59, of Denver, Colorado, Software Executive and Nature Photographer.
