An energetic three-year-old black Poodle was at the heart of an unlikely rescue operation in Swansea.
On Tuesday, April 23rd, the Swansea West Fire Brigade and the Wales Urban Search and Rescue Team responded to a call at Parkmill.
Curious Jock, the Poodle, ventured under a house and ended up stuck there. With the dog out of sight and only his faint whimpers audible, the rescue squad had to get creative. Employing 'Delsar' listening devices and seismic sensors usually used for detecting earthquakes, they pinpointed Jock’s soft barks.
The team used technical search cameras and embarked on a precise operation of digging a tunnel under the kitchen, similar to a high-stakes game of "hot and cold." They then created an additional entry by cutting through the kitchen floor.
After a significant effort involving the removal of much of the backyard and a portion of the kitchen floor, Jock was rescued, his tail wagging, slightly dusty but in great spirits.
