'My ex introduced me to BDSM sex – now I'm hooked'
An influencer has shared how BDSM has helped enhance her sex life after one of her former partners first gave her a “taste” for it.
Ravena Hanniely has hit headlines in the past for taking part in juice cleanses, and vegan challenges and sharing fitness trips with her 38,400 followers on Instagram, (@ravenahanniely.jobs).
Now, the 23-year-old has revealed details about her private life, including how she practices BDSM, which stands for bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, sadism and masochism.
She first discovered it with an ex.
"BDSM provides a safe and controlled way to explore issues of power, control and intimacy,” she told What's The Jam.
“He [my ex] always made me very comfortable to perform my fetishes with him.
“Naturally, I started to control our positions, I liked this instinct I had of domination with him.
“With me, he felt comfortable and discovered that he liked being submissive.
“Since then, I've gotten a taste for BDSM.
“I also like to practice voyeurism, role-playing, exhibitionism.”
Ravena, who is single, says she is very respectful of her sexual partners and their limits, but she prefers to practise BDSM with people who already know and enjoy the kinks.
She said: “I like domination.
“Commanding and commanding the situation is extremely pleasurable and fun for me.
“Taking physical and psychological control of my partner [with their consent] makes me ecstatic.
“One thing I always do when I practice BDSM is agree on a 'safe word' with my partner.
“[But] I don't really enjoy ‘initiating’ people into practice… I prefer to dedicate my time to those who are already adept at the customs and sections.”
Ravena believes BDSM could improve relationships, too.
She said: “It is a practice that requires a lot of trust in the partner.
