Spotted owlets were seen nesting together in a tree cavity in Keoladeo Ghana National Park.
INDIA THE MOST adorable Spotted owlets were captured huddled in a family hug in Rajasthan, India.
These Spotted owlets were seen nesting together in a tree cavity in Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a world-famous bird and wildlife sanctuary.
This bird sanctuary was created 250 years ago and is named after a Keoladeo (Shiva) temple within its boundaries.
The park was originally a hunting ground for royals, and duck shoots were organised yearly in honour of the British viceroys.
In one shoot alone in 1938, over 4,273 birds, such as mallards and teals, were killed by the then Viceroy of India.
In 1985, the park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the World Heritage Convention, and it later became a bird sanctuary.
This lovable family of owlets were snapped by wildlife photographer Rahul Bansal (33) with his Nikon Z9 Mirrorless camera and Nikon Z 400 f2.8 prime lens.
“I felt really emotional to see them like this, shivering in the cold, but at the same time, I was glad that at least they had each other to keep warm,” he said.
“I was so fascinated by this family that I ended up spending around four hours with them and, in turn, got a variety of shots.
“These photos show how all living things have feelings. They feel cold, just like us, and like to huddle together for warmth, just like we would.
“I want people to connect with wildlife on a deeper level and develop a more caring attitude towards wildlife.”
