Deep Blue Eyes or Shark Bay World Heritage Area TEASE your mind with these aerial trickster images that make the Earth from above look like an egg, a fireball and even a sperm. Taken by a skilled photographer flying at an altitude of 1,500 feet hanging out of a Cessna 172 aircraft with its doors off, these images make Mid West Australia Wheatbelt look like a soft-boiled egg in one picture and sunny side up in another. Another amazing image makes the Alcoa Tailing Ponds of Western Australia look like giant fireballs while the upper region of Fox Glacier South Island in New Zealand looks like a naked lady’s navel and nether regions. These mind-bending images are taken by aerial landscape photographer Scott Jon McCook from West Australia. “It has taken me ten years to capture this particular portfolio of aerial landscapes,” he said. “In most cases within the West Australian outback, we use a very old Cessna aircraft flying around 111-124 miles an hour with the door off. “My average altitude in the Cessna is 1,500ft then I tell the pilot to go higher or lower depending on what I’m trying to capture. “If it’s a large target like the ‘sperm’ in Shark Bay, I’ll tell the pilot to go upwards of 2500ft. If it’s something smaller like the ‘soft-boiled egg,’ then we’ll head down to about 800ft. “I am addicted to aerial photography. I started about ten years ago, and it quickly became my main dopamine fix. “The feeling of staring right down onto your subject and seeing nature in all its vastness is just pure bliss.” ENDs
