Very cute baby orangutan in the wild INDONESIA ADORABLE pictures of a wild baby orangutan clinging to its mother are the cutest. The mother orangutan can be seen nurturing her little baby and giving it piggyback rides through the trees. Photographer Anil T. Prabhakar was able to capture these precious moments in Tanjung Puting National Park on Borneo Island, Indonesia, using a Canon R5 camera with RF100-500mm lens. From a distance of just 32 feet, Prabhakar waited around half an hour to take these pictures. “I find orangutans very interesting. I want to learn more about them and their behaviour,” he said. “I also support the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation and adopted five orangutans from them. “Orangutans are smart, brilliant, and very cute, and I feel a special connection to them. And now, they need our support to give back their habitat, which is being destroyed by palm plantations and illegal logging and mining.” Despite being a protected national park, approximately 65% of Tanjung Puting’s primary forest is degraded. Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) like the Friends of National Parks Foundation, Indonesia, have been working tirelessly to restore the habitat. Within the park, four research centres have been set up to study and rehabilitate the orangutans and other primates. ENDS
