Step into the extraordinary world of a makeup magician with the uncanny ability to morph into anyone you can imagine.
With a touch of latex, a dash of cotton wool, and a sprinkle of theatrical cosmetics, Evelin Costa, can shape-shift into your favourite celebrities and iconic figures.
Makeup has always been her passion; she turned it into a business at the age of 15. With a diploma in beauty therapy under her belt, Evelin quickly gained a reputation as the go-to makeup artist in Shepparton. Her glamorous looks delighted clients, but her daring creation during the global pandemic truly captivated audiences.
While the world was in the grip of Victoria's Stage Four coronavirus restrictions, Evelin decided to put her skills to the test and turn herself into none other than the Victorian Premier himself, Daniel Andrews. She used latex and cotton wool for his transformation.
Little did she know that her TikTok video showcasing the transformation would go viral, racking hundreds of thousands of views and making her an overnight sensation.
Hailing from Shepparton, a town located 181 kilometres northeast of Melbourne, Evelin had an empty client chair due to the lockdown.
She embarked on the ambitious project of recreating Dan Andrews' distinctive features to keep herself entertained and spread some positive vibes during these challenging times.
Armed with latex and cotton wool, she meticulously crafted a wider nose, saggy, hooded eyelids. She even sketched the Premier's signature square-rimmed glasses on her face.
Through the art of contouring, bronzer, concealer, and a dark brown wig, she captured the essence of the Premier's short crop.
It wasn't an easy feat, as Evelin spent five hours perfecting the transformation. At times, she felt discouraged, but with a little pep talk and determination, she pushed through and created something unique.
"When I doubted myself, I gave myself a pep talk and reminded myself how 'legendary' it would be if I could pull it off," the 25-year-old admitted.
"Although it doesn't look exactly like him, it was still so much fun. I enjoyed every minute of the transformation."
Before joining TikTok in 2019, Evelin had experience creating video content through YouTube and Instagram. However, it was TikTok that reignited her creative spark. Her first video, which she describes as 'an impulsive decision to try something new', unexpectedly went viral.
Comments poured in, with people praising her incredible skills and likening her work to a masterpiece. Some even humorously insisted that it should make the news headlines.
"The response on social media was overwhelming!" Evelin shared.
"I even received comments like 'you are so b****y talented' and 'I thought this was a drawing.' It's incredible! I'm so thrilled that people loved it. One woman wrote, 'I can't even with this; I don't want to scroll past it ever.' That was the best compliment! Someone said it was the best thing they'd seen all week, and another person mentioned they watch my video every day alongside Dan Andrews' press conferences. It's hilarious! While I'm grateful for the attention, I secretly hope that Dan Andrews himself stumbles across my transformation. That would be amazing!"
Since posting her first video, Evelin, known as Makeup by Evelin on TikTok, has achieved a significant milestone of 1.3M followers!
Fans can't get enough of her incredible ability to mimic famous faces, from Lady Gaga to Kim Craig from the Australian sitcom Kath and Kim. She's even transformed herself into Peppa Pig which was trending!
One of the renowned TikTok star's amazing videos was of Ryan Evans, generating 11 million views. Additionally, her transformation into the iconic Miley Cyrus captivated 10.9 million viewers. Her transformation into Khloe Kardashian has 14.5 million views and her most recent transformation, Angelina Jolie has 31.3 million views.
"Knowing that my videos have touched the lives of countless people brings me an indescribable sense of fulfilment. The encouraging comments, kind words, and unwavering support I receive serve as fuel for my creative fire. They inspire me to push myself further and aim higher, knowing that I have the power to make a positive impact and bring a smile to someone's face," she explained.
