Wyoming, USA: THE RECORD BREAKING oldest grizzly mama bear has been captured with her new cub at the age of 27Grizzly 399, aged 27, recently came out of hibernation in Grand Teton National Park with a new COY (also called Cub Of the Year).The Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team leader Frank van Manen said that the previous oldest known age of reproduction for a wild grizzly was 25 and only 9% of new cubs make it to her age of 27 in the wild.These record breaking images were captured by conservation wildlife photographer Jorn Vangoidtsenhoven (48) using a Nikon D500 camera in Wyoming, USA“Just the fact alone that grizzly 399 is still alive is amazing,” said Jorn.“Some pictures capture grizzly 399 and her new cub in the National Park shortly after she appeared after her hibernation."The first brief sighting occurred in her regular area of Pilgrim Creek in the National Park“It wasn't until later that she walked out into a sagebrush field and showed her new baby to the happy park visitors.“Both mom and her new offspring look great. “Her cub looks to be in good health and pretty big.“Grizzly 399 herself doesn't look skinny at all, which you may expect after just coming out of hibernation and having given birth.” mediadrumimages/JornVangoidtsenhoven
